Hints tips and other information
Info on Kabuto: Kabuto
is good as a support to most teams. He can remove defence (replacement
techniques/50% reductions etc), remove chakra (only one, but it can be
done often and very cheaply), heal himself (15 damage healed per round for
5 rounds - that's a total of 75% of his entire health!) and of course
the replacement technique which comes as standard. There is a theory about a Sakura-Kabuto-Shizune team, where Sakura heals Shizune, Shizune heals Sakura and Kabuto
heals himself...it can be hard to pull of though, but when it works its
very frustrating for the opponent. Use him with area effect teams or
high damaging characters to ensure all your attacks hit. Or, use him
with chakra leech teams if you must.
How to get Kabuto in 4 easy steps:
1) Become a Genin (have a fight to get yourself on the ladder rank!!)
2) Complete "A Small Test" Mission
- this means you have to win 3 battles in a row with Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke.
They don't have to be in the same team when you do it, although it may
be quicker to do it this way (you can win three in a row with
Naruto/Neji/Haku
in your team, for example, and it will still count towards your
mission) Once you've won three in a row with all three characters (Naruto, Sakura
and Sasuke) you will have completed "A Small Test" You have to have completed "A Small Test" to access the
"Survival Mission"
3) Become a Special Jounin (win lots of matches, and you'll soon get there!!)
4) Complete "Survival Mission"
- This asks you to win 10 battles with Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke
*in the same team*. These wins do not have to be consecutive, they can
be as spread out as you want. Just win ten with that team, from the
moment you become Special Jounin, and you will have unlocked Kabuto
How to use Chouji effectively:
To use Chouji effectively, you really need to pair him with someone who
can heal him. Without taking the pills, he deals quite pitiful damage,
admittedly at cheap chakra costs. If you don't have Shizune unlocked, I
would recommend you leave Chouji for later. The two combined, however,
are an amazing team.
Pills, if all three are taken, increase
Chouji's damage to 80 in one round for one Taijitsu (Partial Double
Size Technique), or 80 with invulnerability, spread over two rounds,
for one Bloodline (Meat Tank). These are insane damage/chakra ratios,
and should be heavily exploited! Partial Double Size Technique has no
cooldown, so you can easily wipe a team out with Chouji if you survive
long enough...But like I say, you really need Shizune to heal you for
50 hp to survive as Chouji. Never forget that you can still take a pill
the round after activating Meat Tank (you will be invulnerable to enemy
damage, but you will still take the 20 pill damage).
If you
insist on using Chouji without Shizune, then you can always use Sakura.
She can negate the 20 damage if you have a Ninjitsu chakra to spare for
the heal, and her move has no cooldown. It is a viable technique, just
remember that it will take Sakura three rounds to do this for all three
pills, whereas Shizune can do it in one (well, 50 hp in one round
compared to Sakura's 60). The other benefit is the fact that Shizune
uses random chakra, which is always good.
Unlocking the Sound Four:
I can't stress enough the benefits of resetting your account once you've completed The Fifth of the Sound Mission
It
makes getting these pesky +5 streaks a lot easier, as you'll be
fighting naturally weaker opponents (unless you come up against someone
who has done the same as you and reset)
Anyway, the teams I used to get the Sound 4 are as follows:
Requirements: Sasuke's Quest for Power complete At least rank Genin
JIROUBU:
Ino
Chouji *
Shizune
Basic tactic here was to get Chouji pilled up and then heal him with
Shizune, ensuring that the other team took the full damage with Ino.
Depending
on who your opponents are, you will decide how quickly to feed Chouji
the pills, when to use Meat Tank (remember you are invulnerable whilst
rolling, and you can take a pill at this time also) and when to use the
Partial Double Size Technique - that just comes from knowing the
maximum damage they could inflict on you. If it's likely that they
could kill you (try to think of the chakra costs and how much chakra
you think they have) then I wouldn't take the extra pill - for example,
say you're fighting Sasuke, you've taken one pill, and you now have 80
health. Sakura has been taken over by Ino's mind technique, and Naruto
hasn't activated Shadow Clones. Sasuke has Sharingan activated, and
they used a cheap chakra cost move last round...as it stands, they
won't be able to kill Chouji. It is likely that Sasuke has a blue
chakra, and if you took another pill, he could kill you with Chidori.
The best bet would be to either wait and see, or use Meat Tank to
protect yourself from damage first (you can take a pill when this is
active if you like).
If Chouji dies, you have a much harder job,
which is why Shizune is there to heal him. Her 15 damage Hidden Needle
technique can be a real help, as can her poison. Ino's Mind Body
Disturbance Technique and Mind Transferral Technique both prevent the
opponents from attacking or defending - use them wisely, and Chouji
will eventually end up dealing a guaranteed 80 damage per hit with
Partial Double Size Technique, all for one measly Taijitsu chakra (if
Ino has used a Genjutsu move, the opponent can't defend, even if they
already had a 50% damage reduction!) This can be really helpful!
KIDOUMARU:
Kiba Neji* Kankuro
This was a great team for me! I won 5 in a row easily and continued winning to get a +7 streak. Use Kiba's Dynamic Air Marking as soon as possible and Kankuro's Puppet Preparation. Afterwards, use Kiba's Double Headed Wolf attack on ALL THREE opponents. Use Garouga to finish one of theirs off in the next round. Use Kankuro's 60 Damage attack when you know you can kill one of theirs off, otherwise, use his Poison Bomb (Note: use this when you have the chance as it does a colossal 40 DAMAGE over 4 rounds, and best of all, it can't be evaded once in effect! Use this with Double Headed Wolf for Definite kills! As you have realised, I haven't mentioned Neji. This is because I didn't have to use him at all for most of the matches. You can use his 15 damage area attack to finish off all three opponents at the same time if in the right circumstances, and his chakra destroying attack is handy if you don't have the right chakra and you don't want to be attacked next turn OR if you don't want them blocking your attacks next turn. You can also finish some off using is 40 damage attack that is spread over 2 rounds.
Requirements: Sasuke's Quest for Power complete
At least rank Chuunin
TAYUYA
Shikamaru * TenTen Temari *
Now this team I definitely remember. By far one of the easiest teams to use, this is an amazing combination.
If
you are patient enough, or use Temari's Dust Shield and build up some
chakra, or some damn fool tries to stun YOU and doesn't finish you
off...you can pull of the following:
Shikamaru: 2-round stun (1 white, 1 red) TenTen: 30 damage (1 green, 1 random) Temari: 35 damage (1 blue, 2 randoms)
(all their team = 65 damage taken, 35hp)
Then, either TenTen's 30damage or Temari's 25 damage (1 blue, 1 random)...
(all their team = 5hp or 10hp)
Then use TenTen's stun-move for 5 damage, which will either kill them all or allow you to kill them next round. Nice!
However,
this team is reliant on good Chakra, so if you face a Chakra-Drain team
you may have to bank on getting lucky some rounds...which can bugger
things up. Against another stun team, remember this rule: if an enemy
Shikamaru is Shadowbinding your team, using Shadowbind or TenTen's Trap
against *him* will remove the Shadowbind from your team - but never
forget that this can happen to you too!
SAKON
Kabuto/Kidoumaru/Shizune Kiba* Kankuro*
-You can use any of the above three combinations.
Kiba's
Double-Headed Wolf Technique is amazing. Make sure that when you have
the chance, you use it on all three players; not only will that do
masses of damage over three rounds, it also allows Garouga to deal 60
damage, heals you for 15 health spread over three rounds, and makes you
invulnerable. In Short, Kiba is way imbalanced! Still, Dynamic Air Marking
takes two random chakras, so it can be a pain to get it to work, plus
people will target Kiba because they know he's so good!
Kankuro is
also very good. He requires the Puppet Preparation to use his moves,
but his moves are quite something - for three random chakra (a steep
price, but one you can afford if you get unlucky otherwise) he can deal
60 damage to one opponent. For two randoms, he can deal 40 damage to
the whole enemy team spread over four rounds with his poison. Once the
target has been poisoned, they cannot avoid taking the ten damage each
round - sometimes people will waste a Replacement Technique trying to
stop themselves from taking the damage - leaving them without that
particular defence for another few rounds!
Ok, so which of the three to choose? Here are the pro's and con's of each:
Kabuto Very
cheap chakra cost (one blue to deal 15 damage and take away a chakra
from the other team), he can heal himself 15hp each round for 5 rounds
(75hp in total!!), and his Temple of Nirvana technique is awesome
(disables any defence for 5 rounds). Uses whites and blues, which Kiba
doesn't need. Drawback is that it's hard to play as Kabuto - he's only
really useful in a supporting role. This doesn't mean he's not very
good though - I can't explain how helpful Temple of Nirvana can be to
Kiba and Kankuro!
Kidoumaru Can deal 50 damage in one hit with
his Golden Arrow (one blue, one red) which goes well with Kiba and
Kankuro's large damaging moves. Or he can deal 50 damage to the whole
team over 5 rounds (again, one blue, one red). Combined with Kiba and
Kankuro's moves, this is especially potent. He also has a trap move
which lasts 2 rounds for one red and one random. Drawback is that he
needs reds for all of his moves, and Kiba needs a red for his best move
(Double Headed Wolf)
Shizune
She uses only random chakras just like Kankuro, which means you can
stockpile reds and greens for Kiba. Her two damaging moves cost one
chakra each, and either deal 15 damage to a single opponent, or does
the same as Kankuro's poison, just 30 damage to a single opponent instead. Her 15
damage move has no cooldown, the poison has a cooldown of one, and
can't be used against whoever you just poisoned. She can heal for 50hp
with three random chakras on a 2-round cooldown, which is always nice
too. My personal favourite (two poisons together deal an undefendable
70 damage to one opponent!) and her only drawback is the fact that she
doesn't deal much damage with her Hidden Needle...it's not bad for one
random chakra, however!
So really, take your pick!
Unlocking Kimimaru:
Requirements: The Fifth of the Sound completed At least rank Special Jounin
Shino Gaara * Rock Lee *
People
often complain that Gaara and Rock Lee are a crap combination; they
both have OHKO potential, but no one can ever seem to pick a good
partner for them. However, I found Shino went really well with this team,
and it actually made them really good. Plus he uses reds, and once
you get a female bug on all three, he can attack for 10 damage with
one red to each person and leach one chakra off each, so Chakra isn't even a problem Also, use Gaara's Sand Armour straight after trapping an opponent if you can't kill them the next turn, to ensure that he can still kill and not be killed! Both of Shino's good moves uses reds, so no problem there, Gaara's Desert Coffin removes defence. That
means Rock Lee's Gated Lotus will hit for 120 damage regardless of 50%
damage reductions.
As for the Chakra cost, use Shino's chakra leach on 2-3 of theirs. THIS
IS ESSENTIAL! If you waste opportunities, this team will always be bad
- which is why so many people complain! I reckon you should use Gaara as
your main attacker - and use Desert
Coffin whenever you have the chance. Along with Shino's chakra leach, you can kill off their team members very quickly. I advise you to trap the most dangerous person on their team first and go from there.
You will leave your opponent unable to do anything because of Shino's Chakra Leach and you will always have Ninjitsu chakra for Gaara's killer move, the Desert Graveyard!
Use Shino's chakra leach every other turn and use Rock Lee's Drunken Fist on people. It is really good as it deals 45 damage to an opponent over three rounds and offers a 50% damage reduction to Rock Lee for 2 rounds! Don't
forget you can pull off three Gates Opening; the first will take you to
20 hp, the second will take you to 4 hp, and the last one will leave
you with 1 hp - but once you've killed one guy with it, you may be able
to keep trapping the other team members. In some cases you'll get an
extra green to use as well after activating the Gate - leaving you able
to kill two enemies from one Gate!! Always remember to
check that the opponent hasn't poisoned you or used a defence removal
technique as well, or Lee could die immediately after opening the
Gate...and remember, Gates doesn't take 80 hp, it takes 80% of your
current hp
Unlocking the four teamleaders!!!
KAKASHI
To unlock the mission that gets you Kakashi, you first have to complete
Team of Kakashi...the best way I found of doing this was to just use
Naruto/Sakura/Sasuke combo...its the simplest one to use, and the team
is pretty good, chakra-use wise. Decent all-round, so there's no need
to fiddle around with it
Remember, Rasengan THEN Chidori is a killer, as the player is stunned,
and then takes Chidori next round and (if there's no defence) dies
immediately. Of course, you could use both in the same round, but try
not to use them the other way around if you can. Rasengan and KO Punch
are a powerful stunning combo, and all characters can deal damage
relatively cheaply. The only problem with this team is the set-up moves
(Kage-Bunshin/Sharingan, and Sakura's to a lesser extent). But more
often than not, you'll have enough chakra to manage - and a whole team
50% damage reduction is always great!!
Again, in the next mission you have to use Team 7, so just keep trying
until you've beat 50 sound nins (Sound 4, Kimimaru, Kabuto)
Good luck!
KURENAI
Again, you first have to complete Team of Kurenai to move forwards.
Use Team 8 as they are as they are an awesome team (I won 6 times in a row with them!)! If not, use the below teams:
For Shino and Hinata, team them up with Jiroubu. Yes, I know that
Chakra-Leech teams are VERY cheap, but that doesn't negate the fact
that they're well good! Especially now that Jiroubu has got boosted
again, you can literally tear teams to pieces with the right chakra -
which, courtesy of the leechers, you shouldn't find difficult to come by
Always concentrate on Shino's leech - three chakra taken for one random
is an amazing cost:effect ratio - and Jiroubu's leech when you have the
spare chakra (defense is always nice), Hinata's move only DESTROYS
chakra, but at two per round for two rounds, this can be very potent;
use her's, then Shino's moves, one after the other - each have a one
round cooldown, and when the bugs are set up right, you can leave the
opponent consistently unable to make a move! Don't forget to use Jiroubu
for attacking if you get the chance too :)
As for Kiba, this team works out perfectly, and all you need is one white, two reds and about six randoms.
The tactic is; Temple of Nirvana with Kabuto, which prevents defence.
Set up Kiba's Dynamic Air Marking at some point on all three people
(either before Temple if you can, or if need be, once its been used).
Then the two moves that will kill your opponents; Double Headed Wolf
(60 damage to everyone over 3 rounds, which, thanks to Kabuto's Temple,
is unavoidable), and Kimimaru's Dance of the Seedling Fern (again, an
unavoidable AoE damage - this time for 40)
If you can pull that off, you've won, hands down, except where healing
is used, of course. That's where the other moves come in, for finishing
off annoying healers. Kiba is invulnerable, remember, so if you've
played this team right, you should easily gain the victory, unless
someone's removed Kiba's defence (Hidden Mist/Temple of Nirvana etc) -
basically, with a few minor exceptions, this team is guaranteed a win
if you can pull of the above sequence of moves.
